Frequently asked questions
How does the geofence know when someone is on premise?+
The mobile app uses native location region monitoring (CoreLocation on iOS, GeofencingClient on Android). It runs in the background with very low battery impact and triggers entry/exit events as the employee crosses your defined boundary.
Do employees pay anything?+
No. The mobile apps are free in the App Store and Play Store. Only the dealership pays — billed per site, not per employee.
What happens to an employee's SMS history when they leave?+
All inbound SMS threads from each employee live in their dealership conversation. When they leave, the history stays attached to the org for compliance and audit purposes — managers retain visibility into prior shifts, sick days, and lateness.
Can I require a confirmation before the system clocks someone in automatically?+
Yes. Each site can choose: confirm on every clock event, fully automatic with notification, or manual only. Defaults to confirm-on-every-event.
How accurate is the location tracking?+
We use horizontal accuracy thresholds with multi-sample validation to avoid GPS drift false-triggers. Optional BLE beacon support for indoor zones (service bays, showroom) keeps you accurate where GPS struggles.
Does the app track employees when they are off the clock?+
No. The app only watches the boundaries you draw around your dealership. It never records routes, home locations, or off-lot movement — entries and exits at your lot, nothing else.
What does an employee see on their phone?+
A Today screen with their clock status and hours, their timesheet, team messages, and a profile. Clock-ins happen automatically when they arrive; they can also punch manually with a photo.
Is this compliant with payroll regulations?+
Every clock event is timestamped and stored with location accuracy and battery state. Exports are formatted to drop into ADP, Paychex, Gusto, and QuickBooks — and most major payroll providers via CSV. (Direct push integrations with ADP, Paychex, and Reynolds are on the roadmap.) We do not give legal advice — confirm with your payroll partner.
